Samantha Elizabeth Wyndam-Price Morgan was a month old and I was going crazy. Father to be was alot easier than being an actual Father; late night crying, smelly diapers, and a mother of my child who still didn't want to call our parents. I felt horrible every day I played with Sammy because I would think of my mother and how excited she'd be. Last time we'd talked I was running away from an apocalypse. Lilah and I's bundle of joy was truely spoiled. On the farthest wall was a ceiling to floor bookshelf with every book to help infant brain development. Lilah usually read her those while I would sneak her into my office to show her different demons. Lilah and I would take her to the beach or the park for some quality family time. Life was perfect until someone from my past showed up on our doorstep. When I saw her I couldn't speak.
'Nice to see you too Wesley.', hearing her speak forced me to realize she in fact was real.
"Hello Winifred."

I moved closer to Wes and glared at Fred, who was still standing in our doorway. I tightened my hold on Samantha as I looked at the woman in our doorway. "What is she doing here?" I asked again as Sam tried to wriggle out of my grasp.
He tapped Lilah and whispered 'Who's that?'
Fred looked around the house in awe. "Wow, you have such a beautiful house.." She sat down near Roger, and tried to ignore Lilah all together. She looked at the baby instead. "She's adorable, how old is she? Oh she has your eyes Wes.." She then got to why she was here. "We're stuck on a case and Angel finally broke down and let me come find you. We thought you could help us out, I brought what we have so far on it, maybe you could take a look at them?"</i>
I continued to try and ignore Fred, but I was finiding that next to impossible as she kept talking. I was sitting next to Roger, when he whispered in my ear, wanting to know who she was. "a 'friend' of Wesley's from back in LA." I hissed, as I watched Wes hold sam.
I just ignored the tension and stayed away from talking about personal life.
Fred smiled at the baby girl,as she was handed off to the other man, then turned back to wesley. "Oh just the usual..Angel thinks that Wolfram and Hart are up to something, he just can't figure out what. So he sent me here to see if you could help. They're apparently trying to get ready for some bigritual, that's supposed to take place in abou five days." Fred explained. I took Sam from Roger and told him that I'd be in the nursery.
Fred frowned when Wes asked his question. "No I don't think it involves a child. why do you ask"
I sat Sam down in the window seat with me and pulled out her favorite book,Cinderella I started to read it to her. I just wanted time away from Wesley having his stupid little mind melding meeting with fred.
Roger went up to the nursery to see Lilah. I looked up when Roger walked into the nursery. "You get sick of the bookworm conention downstairs too?" I ased him as I set the book I'd been reading to Sam down.
"It's complicated.", I sighed as I closed the study door behind us."Lilah is the reason I left LA. We came here and started a family. Roger is her best friend and Sam's godfather."
Fred nodded when Wes said it was complicated. She knew that Lilah was his reason for leaving, they'd found out a week after he left. When he said that Roger was Lilah's best friend she couldn't help that laugh that came out. "She has friends? Sorry it's just it's hard to picture.. And Samantha is beautiful really."
'I can only imagine his ways before you but....you're actually jealous...', Roger replied holding back a smirk.
Tightening my jaw I glared at Fred."I won't tolerate you talking about the mother of my child that way.", taking a breath to calm myself I let out a sigh."Angel has plenty contacts.", I crossed my arms."Why do you guys need me anyways?"
Fred looked at him in slight shock as he defended Lilah. She knew that he'd changed, she just hadn't realized how much until now. "I'm sorry Wesley, and I know Angel has plenty of contacts, but I don't know maybe he just wanted to know you were ok. I guess he thought this was the only way we could get you to see or talk to any of us." She quietly explained.
"I left because my true instincts kicked in. Just now you guys came looking for me...", I paused."It's been how long..."
Fred just quietly listened to him talk, then sighed. "We tried to find you just after yopu left, but we couldn't find anything, and it's been just over nine months.." She replied softly.
